SILAS, a five piece rock band based in Eugene, Oregon can't be confined to a box. Simply put, they can TWANG, ROCK, STRUM, GROOVE and JAM like no other. Some say their foot stompin' tunes are Alternative Country. They're in a genre with Robert Earl Keen and Whiskeytown. Some insist that the complex rhythms of SILAS are steeped in jazz-influenced rock like Phish and Steely Dan. Others call the SILAS style Americana roots rock, citing such characteristic sounds as Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle. Whatever you wanna call 'em, it's up to you. But once you catch SILAS live, you just can't let 'em go!

SILAS achieves their rootsy sound by tending to the influences the band members soaked up over the years. These strong inspirations come from rock legends such as The Band and The Allman Brothers. SILAS' original music sprouted from a collective love of 20th century American music. The band's growing disdain for the current state of the union fed the down home passions of SILAS' uniquely American sound.

Todd Dennis (Guitar and Lead vocals), fronts the band with his haunting vocals and lyrics, inspired by honest life experiences and our nation's headlines that never made it to print. Steve Arriola (Lead Guitar, Lap Steel and Back up vocals) draws us in with a bluesy twang that's uniquely his own.. Joey Croce (GOD of THUNDER) plays an Alembic Series Bass Guitar that rocks the foundation of the house. Joey brings his flavor of organic rootsy jam and infectious grooves to the complex rhythms of SILAS while Scott Dillinger (Keyboards and accordion) adds a rich bed of sound and texture with his classic Leslie Cabinet. Local Drum mentor, Sean Brennan (Drums and Percussion) pounds out a solid backbeat for SILAS' musical journeys. From the enchanting tone and rhythm that invites us all to pull up a chair and take a load off, to the edgy passion of a town crier gone mad, SILAS will take you for a ride. As for what exactly is the proper classification of such a fine collection of rockin' musical tonalities, grooves, and experiential jams ... you're just gonna have to check this one out for yourself!
